Anxiety Attacks: The prince of the power of the air is releasing the spirit of fear in ever-increasing measures. He is relentless in this attack. If he cannot paralyze and control you with fear, his tactics become more subtle. They manifest in varying levels of anxiety and worry. Just a small measure at first but once anxiety has taken hold, the level increases and becomes overwhelming.
"Be sober, be vigilant,
because your adversary the devil
walketh about as a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour”
(1Peter 5:8).
The Lord showed me recently that anxiety is attacking His people. It's a sneak attack. It seems to come at you from out of nowhere. Suddenly, these overwhelming feelings of anxiety hit hard. At first, you are so caught up in the realness of the moment that you don’t immediately identify the incident as an attack.
This anxiety causes your thoughts to go in circles. You're trying to come up with a solution. The circumstances driving your anxiety are very real. You reach for a prayer but can't seem to grasp one as your thoughts are too overwhelmed. You try this and you try that. Nothing seems to work.
Stop running in circles. Stop and repent for entertaining the spirit of fear. Call it what it is and repent. Before you tell fear to go in the name of Jesus, you will probably need to sit with the Lord. Ask Him when and how the spirit of fear got a foothold in your life. He will show you. Once He shows you, repent thoroughly. Then tell it to go in the name of Jesus. Pull all the arrows of doubt and unbelief out of your heart. Pull all the arrows of worry, fear, and anxiety out of your mind. Pull the spirit of fear out of your spirit. Ask Holy Spirit to fill every place within you where fear once dwelt. Invite the peace of God to flood your soul and push out all poisonous toxins left by the arrows. Rest for a while in His healing, restoring presence. Ask Him to fortify you against future attacks because they will come.
I would love it if you would let me know how He fortified you and what it looked like.
"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment.
He that fears is not made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18).
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).
