Foreshadow of the Rapture

We finally got to go back to church after almost three months of not being able to gather due to COVID-19.

It was so wonderful!

1000 - 1200 people attend the church I go to on Sunday mornings. To meet safely, 3/4 of the chairs were removed, the rest of the chairs were stage to allow for social distancing, and we went to 4 services. Normally it's a challenge to find a parking place but that was not a problem this Sunday. Parking places were plentiful as was seating. It truly was wonderful to be in His house and His presence with my brothers and sisters in the Lord. I love corporate worship! I love the Word! I love my pastor's heart. How blessed we are to live in a nation where we have the freedom of religion and the freedom to assemble! (Selah and pray about that last sentence.)

Having said all that, let me get to the point of this blog. The Lord laid the following thoughts on my heart. The empty churches, chairs, & parking lots we experienced in the spring of 2020 foreshadow what the church will look like right after the rapture takes place. Empty! The sparsely-filled church and parking lot we are experiencing now foreshadow what the church will look like several weeks after the rapture - a small number of those left behind will be in the churches repenting and seeking God for mercy and help.

Why would God want to foreshadow the rapture? We need to understand that the rapture is drawing near. Scripture tells us that no one knows when it will occur, but we are told to "look up" or always be expectant. We must seek God's heart and love for the lost. We need a fresh Holy Spirit baptism of fire, passion, power, and boldness to reach the lost. We need to have an urgency in our hearts for the lost. Cry out for their souls. Cry out for boldness to reach out to them.

"But you will receive power

when the Holy Spirit comes on you;

and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,

and in all Judea and Samaria,

and to the ends of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

"Then we which are alive [and] remain

shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,

to meet the Lord in the air:

and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
