Prophetic Word: Prepare for Passover

The Lord has been speaking to me, saying "Prepare for Passover". I wondered how we should prepare. Through seeking Him for more and through searching the written word, He showed me how we are to "Prepare for Passover".

In the Old Testament*, the Israelites were told to prepare for the first Passover. They were to take a perfect lamb, kill it on the evening of Passover and apply the lamb's blood on the doorposts of their home. They were to roast it and eat it that night, burning any leftovers. They were to do this completely dressed. At midnight, the death angel passed through the land, killing the firstborn in every house that lacked the blood on its doorpost. The cry of sorrow and agony was so great throughout Egypt that Pharaoh called for Moses in the middle of the night and told him to lead all the Israelites out of Egypt.

In the New Testament**, Jesus told His disciples to prepare the Passover meal that they would share together in honor of the annual feast in which the Jews remembered the night they were delivered from death and slavery. As they sat at the meal, Jesus broke the bread, gave thanks for it and served the disciples, saying, "This is my body given for you". He then offered them a cup of wine, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you". He was telling them He was about to lay down His life as the Passover Lamb. For eternity those who believe in Him would be delivered from slavery to sin and from death. Eternal life would be theirs if His blood was applied to their life.

I believe the Lord is telling us that it is especially important to prepare for Passover this year. Have the elements of communion on hand. Take communion with your family, remember and worship Jesus.

I heard the Lord say, "Do this in a state of anticipation and even in a celebratory manner. Stir up your faith. This Passover and Resurrection Sunday will mark a new beginning. I am about to usher in a new season. It will seem as if it is a brand new year. A fresh wind will blow and you will see the old things pass away. The earth is about to see My goodness in the land of the living. In this season of resurrection, the things you have been believing for will become suddenlies. So, start rejoicing now. "

I have declared

the former things from the beginning;

And they went forth out of my mouth,

and I showed them;

I did them suddenly and they came to pass"

Isaiah 48:3

Believe for the beauty of spring. Believe for a new season.
