The Old and the Young

The Lord has been speaking strongly to me that we are about to see a pairing of the old with the young. I've felt this in my spirit for a while and recently the Lord has me dwelling on the story of Elizabeth and Mary. Elizabeth was old. Mary was young. Both were pregnant. It turns out their children complimented one another in changing the world.

Some older people are pregnant with the promises of God. The young often think these older ones are just too old to give birth to anything of significance today, but the Holy Spirit has impregnated them for such a time as this. They must birth the things they carry.

The young have also been impregnated with amazing dreams for their lives. They carry heavy anointings and burdens of the Lord for this generation.

Young Mary did not carry her child alone. When Mary found out her much older cousin was also pregnant, immediately she went to Elizabeth's house. The child in Elizabeth's womb leaped when Mary (pregnant with Jesus) entered the room. Mary shared her heart with Elizabeth. Likewise, Elizabeth shared her heart with Mary. They did not compete with each other. They rejoiced with each other and encouraged each other.

It's a remarkable truth that Elizabeth's child was a forerunner birthed to pave the way for Mary's child. The old carry promises and wisdom that will pave the way for the next generation to birth their dreams. The wisdom and experience carried by the old ones must truly be embraced by the younger. Likewise, the gifts, callings, and strengths carried by the young must be encouraged by the older. Together they will have a powerful impact on the world in this era. Both are pregnant for such a time as this.

Whether you're young or old, find the one that makes your baby leap. Rejoice with them and encourage them. Embrace their vision and explore how it compliments yours. Watch God change the world through the pairing of the old with the young.
